While in Washington, D.C., he worked in several nonprofit organizations and as consultant directed international projects in health and trade issues.  In the private sector, Miguel also worked as a Managing Partner in the telecom industry.

Since early age, Miguel painted and followed the tradition of South American realism earning him two international awards in juried shows.  Also as an enthusiast of classical music, Miguel has studied classical piano and continue to do so in the present time.

Miguel has been also passionate about equestrian sports all his life.  This passion took him to live in Middleburg, Virginia, where he has participated in fox hunting and polo matches.

Miguel is the founder of the Middleburg Music Fest International, a nonprofit organization created to foster, preserve and educate the public on classical music, as well as jazz and contemporary music composed under a more classical format and where the piano is always featured.  This foundation also seeks to encourage, and to facilitate the artistic development of young gifted, but financially-challenged individuals. This is possible through the creation of a special fund or scholarship program with the participation of musical education institutions and with the support of our private donors and corporate sponsors.
